The accounting firm was founded in November 1947 by Mark Beckman and Otto Hilt. In November 1953, Charles McCrate joined the firm. During the 1960s John DeLaet became a partner in the firm. The firms name of McCrate, DeLaet and Co. was established after the death of Hilt in July, 1966. The firm has grown steadily over the years and currently has 23 employees. We are located in the Courtview Center Building in Sidney. We also have office space available for use by appointment in Versailles and Cassella. The office in Versailles is located in the Phelan Insurance Agency building. The office in Cassella is located in the Marion Mutual Professional Building. On November 1, 2006 we merged with Richard T. Martin, CPA. This merger brings together two firms with over 94 years of combined experience as public accountants. We have specialists in the areas of taxation (corporate and individual), computer services, accounting, auditing, business advisory services, and financial. We have considerable experience in various industries including, but not limited to agri-business, farming, construction, retail, trucking, nonprofits and various types of manufacturing. We strive to meet the needs of our clients companies and their families while understanding the challenges of their industry. Using our technical and industry expertise, we consult with our clients on retirement, transition, and estate planning matters. We also assist clients with transactions involving the purchase or sale of a business or real estate.
