Johnson, Feigley, Newton, & McCoy participates in a Quality Review program administered by the Alabama Society of CPAs, whereby our work product is reviewed by an independent Certified Public Accounting firm to ensure we meet the highest standards of our profession. As members of the American Institute of CPAs, our staff maintains technical expertise by meeting continuing education requirements of these organizations. Staff members attend seminars in their particular areas of expertise including accounting and auditing, tax, and computers to stay abreast of current information in these rapidly changing fields. Johnson, Feigley, Newton, & McCoy was founded in 1968 by H. Joe Johnson. The firm currently occupies an office at 105 West Washington Street in Athens, Alabama. Personnel consist of four partners and a staff of seven. Other partners in addition to Mr. Johnson are George Feigley, who was admitted in 1980, Gail Newton, admitted in 1992, and Mike McCoy, admitted in 1998. In 1974 we were the first accounting firm in Athens and the second local accounting firm in Alabama to have our own in-house computer system for preparation of payrolls, financial statements, tax returns and accounts receivable processing. Today the firm performs various audits including governmental and non-profit entities and prepares numerous reviews and compiled financial statements as well as being involved in all aspects of tax work. Our clientele consists of companies in various industries such as construction, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, non-profit organizations, municipalities and healthcare.
